What is a Play Portal?
A Play Portal is a Media Portal specifically designed for video and live broadcasting. Visitors can watch videos directly in the portal or download files if you allow it. You can also broadcast your live programmes in the Play Portal and have them published there afterwards.
Under the "Portals" tab in Mediaflow, you can see your Media Portals and whether any of them are Play Portals.
Would you like to add a Play Portal?
Please contact your administrator or our support team for further assistance. A Play Portal is combined with the Video Manager add-on.
There are several benefits to having a Play Portal, as it opens up more possibilities than a Standard Portal:
-
Portal templates specifically designed for video files
-
Possibility to create video lists
-
More settings for video files
-
Possibility to use your own domain name for the Media Portal
-
Possibility of having your own fonts in the Media Portal
Portal templates for Play Portals
Media Portals are based on different templates (appearances), and you choose the template that best suits the purpose of your Media Portal. In editing mode, you customise the look and feel to suit your brand and graphic profile. For those with a Play Portal, there are two different templates to choose from:
Play 1 - A customisable template where images/banners link to a specific video. Possibility to create video lists.
Play 2 - A template focusing on an image/banner and linking to a specific video. Possibility to create video lists.

Settings for Play Portals
In addition to the appearance, you can also work with the settings for your Play Portal. Under the Media Portal settings, you choose how the files may be handled, what metadata should be visible and how visitors reach the Media Portal. Settings specific to the Play Portal:
-
Enable users to copy video embed code in the portal: With this option checked, visitors to the Play portal can download a link for embedding by right-clicking on the film in the portal. They can choose between Javascript and iFrame and decide what time the film should start playing.
-
Allow content sharing to social media: With this option checked, the Play Portal visitor can share videos directly on social media.
