ACOS CMS is a Norwegian-developed content management system that, with its integration with Mediaflow, makes it easy to insert images and videos on the website’s pages. With the ACOS system, you can manage multiple websites and administer content, including text and media, from a single login.

Possibilities with Mediaflow Integration
The Mediaflow integration in the ACOS content management system enables users to:
-
Import images and videos from Mediaflow for use on the website(s) in ACOS CMS.
-
Track which images have been used on the website in ACOS CMS, as the usage is logged in Mediaflow.
This integration is a collaboration between ACOS CMS and Mediaflow.
This article focuses on managing and configuring the integration in Mediaflow. For further information on how to configure it in ACOS CMS, please contact ACOS CMS support.
Importing Images from Mediaflow
In ACOS CMS, you can add images from Mediaflow in various locations: in content modules, as images displayed in news listings, for social media sharing, and within body text. Regardless of where you place these images, they are then stored in the ACOS CMS media library and can be reused in multiple locations.
Image modules
-
Click on the field to select an image.
-
Choose an image from the media folder or click Upload [Last opp bilder] at the top.
-
Click the Mediaflow button.
-
The Mediaflow file selector [Mediaflow filutforsker] will open in a new window.
-
Select the image you want to use.
-
Click Use this file [Bruk denne filen].
-
The next step is to categorise the image to make it easier to find. Choose a category folder or click Add new category [+ Ny kategori] to create a completely new one.
-
If the image contains metadata such as Photographer and Alt Text, these fields will be automatically filled in. At this stage, you can also modify the information if needed.
-
Click Upload [Last opp]
-
At this stage, you can also edit the metadata for the image. Additionally, you have the option to crop the image. The cropping only applies to this instance of image insertion. The original image remains in the media library, and the next time you insert it, you can crop it again — or use the full image.
-
Click Done [Ferdig]. The image is now added to the ACOS media library.
The integration only displays allowed images
The file selector only displays images that Mediaflow has authorised for use. If an image has licensing restrictions, GDPR restrictions, or is stored in a folder that is not shared with ACOS CMS, you will not be able to select these images.
Inline
To add an image to inline text:
-
Click Insert [+ Sett inn] to see the available module options.
-
Select Image [Bilde]
-
From here the workflow is the same as when inserting an image into a module, so follow steps 2 to 11 in the guide above.
Import images directly to the Media Library in ACOS CMS
You can also add images directly in the CMS media library.
-
Click Edit [Rediger] and then select Images [Bilder].
-
Choose a category on the left.
-
Click the upload field at the top.
-
After this, follow the same workflow as for inserting images into Image modules. Follow steps 3 to 11 above to add the image to the media library.
Import video from Mediaflow
-
Click Insert [+ Sett inn]
-
Type Widget and select it.
-
Click Create new [+ Opprett ny].
-
Enter a Title [Tittel] and Description [Beskrivelse]. In the Type field, select Other: Video from Mediaflow [Annet: Video fra Mediaflow], or start typing Mediaflow in the search field to filter the correct type.
-
Click Select Video [Velg video.]
-
In the file selection window, choose a video and click Use this file [Bruk denne filen].
-
Choose how you want to embed the video. We recommend using Javascript.
-
Click Use this file [Bruk denne filen] again.
-
Under Settings [Innstillinger] on the right, select a category if it is not already filled in.
-
Click OK.
-
Click Publish [Publiser].
Deleted media
If media is removed from the media folder, it is moved to the trash can in ACOS CMS, where it remains for 30 days before being permanently deleted.
When an image or video is moved to the trash can, its usage data is removed from Mediaflow. If a file is restored from the trash can in ACOS CMS, the usage data in Mediaflow is also restored.
How to connect ACOS CMS with Mediaflow
-
Contact Mediaflow support and verify that your contract includes “Access to ACOS CMS”.
-
Request an integration with ACOS CMS for your Mediaflow account. Mediaflow support will notify you once the integration is set up.
-
Log in to Mediaflow and retrieve your Refresh Token. You can find it under Settings > Integrations > ACOS, in the field labeled Refresh Token (server key).
-
In the email you receive from Mediaflow support, you will find the contact details of the person at ACOS to whom you should send your refresh token. Please copy and paste your refresh token into the email and avoid sending screenshots. This person will then add the refresh token to their system, and once they have replied to your email and confirmed that this has been completed, the connection to Mediaflow is up and running.
-
Set folder permissions in your Mediaflow account to control which images can be selected in ACOS CMS. Do this by selecting a folder and choosing “Add Group” under the “Access” tab. Then, select “Web Editors in ACOS” from the list and save. For more details on folder sharing, visit this page.
