There are three different ways to publish a live broadcast:
-
Via the broadcast's own page. Every broadcast receives a unique URL that you can share or communicate to those who need access to the broadcast.
-
Embed the broadcast. You can embed your broadcast on any webpage using an embed code.
-
In a Play Portal.
You can choose whether the broadcast should be available for viewing after it has ended. This applies to all the places where you have chosen to display the broadcast.
Publishing with the Broadcast URL
All live broadcasts created in Mediaflow have their own live page. To access this page, one needs the unique link to the broadcast. You can find the link in the control room under Video URL.
Important to note
It is not possible to pause a live broadcast. If you end a broadcast, it cannot be restarted. If you reuse the settings from the broadcast, you will get a new URL.
Publishing with an Embed Code
The embed code for your broadcast can be found in the control room under Options/Embed code. Using this code, you can embed your live broadcast on any webpage.
Live Broadcast in a Play Portal
With a Play Portal, you can gather all your live broadcasts in one place. You can also set where and when the live broadcast will appear in the portal. You can promote your live broadcast in three different ways:
1. On the homepage
You can display a notification on the portal's homepage for an upcoming or ongoing live broadcast. You can choose the date and time for when the notification should be visible.
Before the broadcast starts:
During the ongoing broadcast:
2. In a folder (video list)
You can choose to show a notification for an upcoming broadcast in a folder. The timing for when the notification appears in the folder can be different from that on the portal's homepage. The broadcast can be visible in the folder before, during, and after the broadcast—if you have allowed it. If you opt for the broadcast to automatically unpublish after it ends, it will no longer be visible in the folder.
Before the broadcast:
During the ongoing broadcast:
After the broadcast ends:
3. As unlisted on a hidden page
If you choose to make your broadcast unlisted, only those with the link to it can access it. It will not appear in folders, on the portal's homepage, or in searches. This can be used, for example, for internal meetings or training sessions.
Visibility Settings in a Play Portal
Under the Publication tab in the settings for your live broadcast, you can choose where and how your broadcast will be displayed.
You can select:
-
Which folder (video list) your broadcast should be visible in.
-
When your live broadcast should appear in the portal.
-
Whether the broadcast should be automatically unpublished when it ends.
-
Whether you want the number of viewers to be displayed.
-
Whether a notification should be shown on the portal's homepage and when it should be visible.
