This is a summary of updates made so far in 2023.
Updated plugin for Adobe Indesign:
An updated version of our plugin for Adobe Indesign is now available for download in your Adobe Creative Cloud account. If you already have the plugin you need to update or reinstall it in your Creative Cloud program under the Stock and Market tab and then Plugins. Click here to go to the Adobe Exchange page for the plugin: https://exchange.adobe.com/apps/cc/17763
Manage files in Mediaflow:
Larger file preview
This update has made the preview significantly more high-resolution and you will no longer need to download files only for previewing details. The preview has increased from a maximum of 700 pixels to 1400 pixels. For previewing in maximum size, select the One by one-view or click on the magnifying glass in the right panel.
A clearer information about uploaded video processing
Like many streaming services, when uploading video files in Mediaflow they need to be processed for the file to be streamed. Previously this was not clear, which led many users to believe that there was an error in the upload or in their files. Now there is a text that clearly states "Processing video" on the film thumbnail while Mediaflow is handling the file.
Set your own background color for images with download format
An issue that previously prevented you from choosing your own background color even if you specified your own color with a hex value, is now fixed.
Web shares:
An easier way to copy a created web share
When you create a web share and select "Save and view link," there is now a copy button under the web share's URL. This helps you to copy the link faster.
A clearer expiration date for web shares
If you set an expiration date for a web share, this will now be visible at the top of the web link gallery.
Mediaflow Portals:
Ability to hide archived folders in a portal
You can now choose to hide archived folders in portals. Previously, it was standard for archived folders to be displayed. You can find this setting under the settings for your portal. Under the Basic Settings tab, you will find the option Show Archived Folders. This box is automatically checked. If you want to hide your archived folders in your portal, you must uncheck this box.
Video player:
Ability to change default settings for video playback
As a result of this update, you can now choose:
- Which subtitles should automatically appear for the viewer (previously the viewer had to choose to turn them on)
- Which language version should be default for the viewer (previously the main language was always displayed by default)
- Starting point for playback (previously the video always started from the beginning)
Currently, these settings can only be done manually in the embed code for video and only work in the javascript version. In the future, it will be possible to manage these settings in our Video Manager and when embedding video with one of Mediaflow's CMS integrations. If you have any questions about this, please contact our support.
Live:
A clearer information about when a live broadcast starts
When you start a live broadcast in Mediaflow, it takes a few seconds before the broadcast goes live to your viewers. Previously, a preview of the broadcast was shown in the control room in Mediaflow, which made many users think the broadcast was live. Now, the same data stream is shown in the control room as the viewers see. When you start a broadcast, the selected poster image will appear for about 15-20 seconds before audio and video are broadcast to the viewers. If you have set a date and time for the broadcast, the countdown will also appear here.
Additional updates for responsiveness:
- We have improved the responsiveness of playportals in mobile phones.
- We have improved the responsiveness so that the entire dialog for the control room in Mediaflow Live is also visible on smaller screens, for example laptops.
