Video files in Mediaflow
Mediaflow's video features enable you to organise and manage your video files within the platform, just like your other files. You can easily display video content on your website or create your own Play Portal. Mediaflow's fully accessible video player meets all the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements, supporting subtitles, as well as multiple audio and video tracks for audio description and sign language interpretation.
What is Video Manager?
With the Video Manager add-on, you can customise your videos with subtitles, multiple language versions, audio descriptions, and sign language interpretation. You can conveniently access the relevant video in Video Manager directly from Mediaflow. If you work in a local council, public body, or government agency, Video Manager helps ensure compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. You can also use it to strengthen your brand and visual identity by organising videos into playlists, dividing longer videos into chapters, and customising the media player's appearance to match your graphic profile.
Subtitles
Subtitles make it easier for viewers to engage with video content. In addition to uploading your own subtitles, Mediaflow allows you to automatically generate them. This saves you the time and effort of manual transcription, and you can easily edit the generated text in Mediaflow's subtitle editor. If you'd prefer to write your own subtitles, you can do so directly using the video tool.
Videos in multiple languages
If you target multiple markets or operate in several countries, you can offer your videos in various languages. Alongside subtitles, you can upload alternative audio and video tracks in different languages and add them to the video. Once the tracks are activated, viewers can seamlessly switch between them in the video player.
Visual and sign language interpretation
In Video Manager, you can attach separate audio or video tracks to your film for visual and sign language interpretation. Viewers can then activate these aids directly in the video player. Additionally, you can create audio descriptions and sign language interpretations using subtitles. You can provide descriptive text for viewers with hearing loss or use text for audio description that can be read aloud by a speech synthesiser.
