What’s a web share?
Web shares are Mediaflow's file-sharing solution. With web shares, you can easily distribute and share files with others outside Mediaflow, but also receive material, via a unique sharing link. It’s a perfect solution for workflows with external photographers, agencies and printers or in a large organisation. The link can be sent directly from Mediaflow or copied for access from, for example, a website or in an email conversation.
A web share has its own graphics engine, which means it can display and play all kinds of file formats. You can thus create a web share with, for example, PDF documents, JPG and PNG image files or video files. All these file formats will be displayed and played in the web link. This means that you can send material from e.g. Adobe Photoshop to a co-worker and via the web share they can review this material without having Photoshop installed on their computer.
Create web shares
You simply select the files you want to share in your media bank when you create a web share. As web shares are not limited to images and videos but can also be used to securely share any file, replacing the need for an additional service such as WeTransfer, Dropbox or Sprend. You can either share an entire folder, individual files or a selection.
Customise your web shares
Web shares can be used in many different workflows, for example
File delivery - When you want to send files to someone for download.
Collection - When you want to receive files, for example from a photographer.
Review - When you want to send files to someone for review.
Selection - When someone wants to make a selection from several files.
Under the web shares settings, you can customise the web share according to its purpose. Customise the download page according to a variety of parameters such as password, version management and light or dark theme. You can also personalise the web share with an instruction in the email and a welcome box in the sharing link.
In the main menu, all web shares are then collected in a list under the Shared tab.
