Brand Portals are built on Mediaflow's DAM, which means you can quickly and easily manage your portal thanks to access to your folder structure with files in Mediaflow. There are two different ways to publish files in a Brand Portal. How the file becomes available depends on the block that is used.
Under the Portal tab in Mediaflow's sidebar, you will see an overview of all your portals. To access the respective portal's admin mode, click on Edit.
Publish Files
In the Hero, Image, Text & Image, Cards, and Video blocks, you can upload images or videos from Mediaflow. You don’t need to grant access to the folders in Mediaflow first; you can choose from all files and folders in your Mediaflow account. These files will be published and can be displayed in your Brand Portal in the same way as on a webpage.
Grant Access to Files in the Brand Portal
You use the Files block if you want visitors to the portal to be able to download files. For folders with files to be selectable here, you must first allow this in Mediaflow.
Grant Access to Files in Mediaflow
Select the relevant folder in Mediaflow by clicking on it.
Then click on the Access tab in the right panel.
Now click on Add group in the dropdown list and select the name of your portal.
When your portal appears in the list with a green checkmark, it means that this folder can now be selected in your portal. Don’t forget to save your changes.
Now the folder you published will be visible in your portal, and visitors will be able to access the files. In the same way that you have just allowed a folder with files to be selectable in the Files block, you can also hide it from the portal by unchecking the option. Don’t forget to save your changes.
For the portal's visitors to access and download the files, you need to use the Files block and link your folder there.
Manage Subfolders
You can choose to share the contents of subfolders either for each subfolder or only at the root folder level. The following options are available for working with subfolders:
1. Set sharing at Root folder
Enable sharing for the folder you have selected and check the option "Update all subfolders to inherit only these settings”. This means that all subfolders will now be shared with the portal. This box is checked by default, meaning that subfolders will also be shared with the portal. If you do not want to share the contents of subfolders, you can simply uncheck this box.
2. Set sharing for each folder
Enable sharing for the root folder, but do not check the option "Update all subfolders to inherit only these settings”. Repeat this for each subfolder you wish to share.
3. Exclude subfolders
Enable sharing for the root folder you have selected and check the option "Update all subfolders to inherit only these settings”. This means that all subfolders will now be shared with the portal. Then click on a subfolder that should not be shared and click the checkbox for your Media Portal under Access to folder until the box is empty.
