With the integration to SharePoint, you can publish your images from Mediaflow directly on your website or intranet. This is an excellent way for editors to always have access to files that are GDPR-compliant and have the correct alt texts. SharePoint users don't need to download files to their computer first and therefore don't need a login to Mediaflow. (But of course, they can have a Mediaflow login for other needs.)
Get started with the integration
You can start using the integration as soon as it's installed in SharePoint. For the files to be selected and used optimally, you need to have prepared their settings in Mediaflow first.
Publish images in SharePoint
Mediaflow's integration to SharePoint is used to import images to a SharePoint page. This is done by syncing the images into a library in SharePoint. The images can then be inserted on different pages and news listings etc., just like images uploaded directly to SharePoint. Mediaflow will log that the image is on your site but not on which page. If you later want to remove the image from SharePoint (perhaps because someone has withdrawn their consent), you can remove the image from the library in SharePoint, and it will then disappear from all pages it's on.
The alt text will be entered into a separate field in the SharePoint library, but it must be manually copied to the real alt text field in SharePoint. Any keywords will be placed in a separate field and are used to search for the image in SharePoint.
Save images from Mediaflow to SharePoint
If the integration app is installed on your site, a library named Mediaflow will exist. Go to this library. In the menu bar, there will be a button called Add from Mediaflow as shown in the image below.
If you press the button, Mediaflow's image selector will appear. Navigate to the image you want to use and press "Use this file". The file will then be retrieved from Mediaflow and inserted into SharePoint. This will happen in the background, and when it's done, the window will reload. Note! It's important not to navigate away or reload the window. This can lead to the file not being added.
Use an already retrieved image in SharePoint
Since the integration retrieves your images to a regular SharePoint library, you can reuse all of SharePoint's standard functions where images are used. In the example below, in a regular Image web part.
1. Start by editing the page. Add the image web part if it's not already added.
2. Choose to browse images. A pop-out will appear. Navigate to "Site" and then select the "Mediaflow" library. Now you have access to all the images you have chosen to retrieve from Mediaflow.
3. Your image is now inserted on the page.
Images only
The integration currently doesn't support inserting video or documents.
Integrationen stöder för närvarande inte att infoga video eller dokument.
